The Big Cities Health Coalition advocates on behalf of large metropolitan health departments. An important priority this year is to urge Congress to reauthorize a bill that enables funding for public health emergency preparedness. 
I designed this page for our site to provide an easily digested, visually engaging introduction to our policy positions on this legislation.
Our government relations consultant and I collaborated to create the chart below to illustrate that as the frequency of national public health emergencies has increased over the last two decades, the funding to provide public health response to those emergencies has declined.
Using Adobe Express and photos of public health work from our members – I avoid stock photography whenever possible – I created graphic illustrations to give the online brief more visual appeal.
To make the policy brief easier to skim, I worked with our web developer to add accordion blocks to our WordPress site so the reader could click on any individual policy recommendation that interested them to learn more (see below for an expanded recommendation).
