As the lead graphic designer at Girl Scouts of Central Texas, I needed to make our programming attractive to a wide range of girls, ages 5–18. Summer camps are a major source of funding for Girl Scouts, so the annual summer camp guide needed to appeal to girls and parents alike.
Because of Girl Scouts' egalitarian and anti-racist ethos, I devoted many hours to combing through our camp photo archive to find images that showed girls of all ages, races, ethnicities, and abilities enjoying our camps.
Icons, callouts, color coding, and easy-to-decipher grids helped parents and kids easily find the best camp for them.
