
As creative director at Blackbuck Marketing, I knew our website needed a major refresh: it had not been updated since the business had been founded a couple of years before.
While my freelance website designer did most of the visual concepting and coding, I reconceptualized and wrote the copy for the new site. The core idea was to appeal to small businesses and nonprofits—our bread-and-butter clients—who typically feel intimidated by professional design firms. The rotating graphics on the home page present versions of stories we had heard from clients in the past:
I can't keep spending 20 hours week on this newsletter. I've got other work to do.
I know we should be posting to social media every day. I can just never find the time.
The cell phone photos we're taking at events just aren't cutting it anymore.
We should probably do video. Where are we going to find someone to do video?
